The Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM) at Rutgers University, in conjunction with the departments of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Neuroscience & Cell Biology, and Pharmacology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), seek outstanding candidates for tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor to fill three new Faculty Positions. CABM, founded in 1985, has an outstanding track record in fundamental biomedical research and includes faculty within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) and Rutgers-New Brunswick. The three departments include investigators with expertise in neurodevelopment, neurodegeneration, cell signaling, chromatin structure and function, and drug discovery. Successful candidates will be provided with competitive start-up packages, access to high-performance computing clusters and other core resources, and modern laboratory space at CABM, and will be expected to develop and maintain strong, externally funded research programs, and participate in collaborative projects with other Departments and Institutes on the campus. Junior candidates with current funding or grants under review are preferred. Mid-level candidates are expected to have a successful history of funding. Tenure-track appointments will be made through one of the three basic science departments at RWJMS, with full access to graduate training programs and research resources. Participation in Rutgers graduate, undergraduate, and medical student training programs through mentorship and teaching will be highly encouraged. Research programs utilizing interdisciplinary and translational approaches that develop interactions with the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics, the Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science, and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) are encouraged.

We seek individuals with research interests that will complement and/or expand our existing strengths, with special emphasis on work related to human microbiome.
