Location: This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office (2 days in-office required) and remote work days. The office is located at the Taylorsville State Office Building - 4315 S. 2700 West, Taylorsville, UT. If the chosen candidate lives more than 50 miles from the office, full-time telework (with occasional in-office meetings) may be approved by management. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.

Job Description
Do you have experience with application analysis, testing, evaluating, and interfacing with IT systems? Do you enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same? Join the Division of Finance's Quality Assurance Team as a Senior Business Analyst!
Principal Duties
As a Senior Business Analyst for State Finance, you will:

• Test & evaluate software modifications and system upgrades. Develop plans, scripts and execute test steps to determine the success/failure of changes made to supported systems software.
• Test and review systems and practices to ensure compliance with state policy, procedures, regulations and Division of Finance standards.
• Responsible for the design, development, execution, and maintenance of automated test scripts using TestSavvy.
• Consult with and support agencies who need functionality beyond that offered by Division of Finance systems as they design, develop and implement processes to generate interfacing transactions to be sent to existing Finance systems.
• Anticipate the impact that new or modified software will have on existing statewide policy and procedures, and Division of Finance standards and systems.
• Provide help-desk support to answer calls and solve/close help tickets.

• Experience using tools to extract data from a database to conduct data analysis.

• Possesses excellent communication and analytical skills and works well in a collaborative environment.

Example of Duties
Additional duties may include:

• Resolving complex operation and/or data processing issues and may monitor system performance.
• Coordinating the use of information analysis and data.
• Supporting the Financial Information Systems customer support and training staff to analyze and answer user's questions. Supporting the system operations team to resolve reported application and system operations problems.
• Utilizing software programs to store, retrieve, analyze data, and arrange results in a format that effectively supports the organization's production activities.
• Testing strategy development, test and script creation and execution, defect tracking and reporting.
• Designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts using TestSavvy.
• Making recommendations for information systems to improve business process and increase efficiencies.
• Making recommendations for enhancements to Division of Finance systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
