We are seeking an experienced Production Artist to join our team on a temporary basis (estimated 30 - 40 hours/week) to support a catalog project. As a Production Artist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our catalog production process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in print production, possess an attention to detail, and be proficient in using industry-standard software such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Nordstrom is able to offer remote employment of this position in all US states except AR, CA, MS, MT, NE, NH, ND, SD, VT, WV, and WY.

A day in the life...

  • Collaborate with the Creative Production Manager and the design team to ensure the successful execution of the catalog project from start to finish.
  • Prepare print-ready files for production, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Assist with catalog layout and pagination, ensuring that all elements are properly placed and aligned.
  • Retouch high-end retail photography using Adobe Photoshop, ensuring the highest quality and consistency throughout.
  • Make necessary adjustments to images, such as color correction, cropping, and resizing, while maintaining a keen eye for detail.
  • Collaborate with the design and copy team to resolve any production-related issues or challenges that may arise.
  • Coordinate with the color house for packaging and releasing files, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of production files.
  • Maintain an organized file management system, ensuring all assets are correctly labeled and accessible.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software updates, and best practices related to print production and design.

You own this if you have...

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a Production Artist, specifically in print production and catalog creation.
  • Proficient in using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and and MS Office Suite; experience with Workfront is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, including file preparation, color management, and prepress techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of typography, layout, and design principles.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of high-end retail photography and experience in retouching images is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with catalog layouts and pagination is a plus.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

California: $24.50 - $49.25 hourly, Colorado: $24.50 - $39.00 hourly, Connecticut: $24.50 - $45.00 hourly, Hawaii: $24.50 - $39.00 hourly, Nevada:$24.50 - $39.00 hourly, New York: $24.50 - $49.25 hourly, Rhode Island: $24.50 - $39.00 hourly, Washington: $24.50 - $45.00 hourly This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
