Cardiology practice seeking Telephone Triage Nurse located at 1960/45 with $1,000 Sign On Bonus!
Provides general nursing care to patients by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Triage by telephone and problem solve patient concerns and medical questions.
  • Refills prescriptions as delegated by prescribing authority.
  • Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
  • Responsible for developing, recommending for approval, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining nursing plans, procedures, and policies to ensure the practice continually strengthens its competitive edge.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, monitoring, and distributing all documentation associated with nursing plans, procedures, and policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining an open communication line with all employees, customers, and vendors, while maintaining proper confidentiality, to ensure proper handling of all nursing issues that may arise.
  • Responsible for maintaining all records and files associated with nursing.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement projects in all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensures that company meets or exceeds Federal, State, and Local governmental laws, ordinances, and regulations in all areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for auditing own performance and recommending own objectives and standards of performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining an awareness of developments in the nursing field that relate to job responsibilities and integrating them into own practices.
  • Develops, prepares, monitors, and maintains special projects and programs as requested.
  • Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports, analysis, records, and databases for assigned area.
  • Obtains, maintains, or exceeds company productivity and quality policy.
  • Interacts with other employees in a polite, courteous, and productive manner.
  • Responsible for adhering to established “Work Rules.”
  • Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly work area.​​​​​​
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
  • Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient.
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients.
  • Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
  • Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess the condition of patient.
  • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
  • Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
  • Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instructions.
  • Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgery.
  • Assists in procedures by handing items to medical practitioner.
  • Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.
  • Any other duties of a similar or lesser nature as required.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- LVN or RN
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer functions and ability to learn EMR system.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Minimum of Licensed Nurse (either Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse)
