Position Summary:
The primary function of the Telecommunications Specialist is to provide support for all of the Firm's offices equipped with GT owned telephone systems. The employee in this position works as part of a team under the direction of a manager or director.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Remote phone programming
- Voicemail box programming
- Troubleshoots telephone problems
- Works directly with vendors to troubleshoot issues
- Provides technical support
- Works with team on testing and firm-wide implementation of new equipment
- Produces system audits and reports in Excel
- Tracks and maintains ticketing queue for telecom issues
- Works on special projects
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent troubleshooting skills relating to telephony, demonstrating the ability to resolve moderately complex issues or suggest alternative solutions
- Candidate must have excellent computer skills (including Excel) and a working knowledge of computer networking
- Strong communication skills, including the use of active listening and the ability to convey information clearly in both written and verbal communication
- Must demonstrate a personal willingness and ability to effectively work in and adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to attend various training classes and travel to other GT offices as needed
- Attention to detail, organized and able to effectively set priorities and meet deadlines
- The person in this role is expected to be available after-hours in an emergency
Qualifications & Prior Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred, and 5 or more years of experience in telephony
- Extensive experience with Avaya CM 10.x and above (certification preferred)
- Experience with Avaya Messaging preferred
- Experience using trouble ticketing software
