Tour shifts Rotating (Days,evening, nights, weekend , and holiday shifts)
- The candidate will provide telecommunications support to the VAMC.
- The incumbent will operate the VAMC centralized telephone system to receive and connect incoming and outgoing calls utilizing complex computerized equipment and telecommunications software.
- Regularly provides customer service to a variety of difficult calls requiring personal involvement on the part of the employee, such as threatening, abusive, or distraught callers.
- Maintenance of confidentiality of patient/incumbent information, electronic and print.
- The incumbent in this assignment gives way finding directions to patients for all locations.
- Operates the internal and external paging system to facilitate paging requests of authorized personnel.
- In addition, this position will be required to: respond to alarms within the Medical Center appropriately based on hospital policy, test telecommunications equipment, dispatch information regarding alarms, operate two-way radio, and perform calmly, competently, and quickly in emergency situations.
- Must dress according to hospital policy and follow the no smoking on hospital grounds policy.
