Hiring for Aerial Lineman and Aerial Lineman Foreman

Pay Range:
Aerial Lineman $25-$28/hour
Aerial Foreman $30-$35/hour
Job Summary
The lineman is responsible for performing many different tasks that require physical labor during all phases on the construction site. This position performs tasks involving physical labor at building, highway, and heavy telecommunication construction projects by hanging aerial strand, coax and fiber cable. The role is expected to be cross trained in other facets of underground construction and may operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May prepare sites, dig trenches, set vaults, handholes, pedestals, restore and clean up rubble and debris at job site.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Throwing weighted rope over elevated cable lines and tree branches and pull lashing equipment down cable lines to secure wires.
  • Operating a bucket truck, climbing ladders and/or poles 50 feet or higher following proper methods and safety standards.
  • Use pounding equipment to install ground rods and anchors into the ground.
  • Assist in pulling aerial cables, lashers, ropes and underground cable thru new and existing conduit.
  • Install equipment and dress pole to customer specifications using assorted small hand and power tools.
  • Read blueprints and maps to interpret daily work assignments.
  • Prepare/set up sites with proper signage, cones, barricades.
  • Loads, unloads, identifies and organizes building materials, machinery, tools, and distributes them to the appropriate locations, per project plans and specifications.
  • Maintenance of tools, equipment and vehicles.
  • Preform daily truck inspections, keeping vehicle properly stocked and cleaned.
  • Must own pole climbing gear.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license and DOT medical card is required.
  • Telecommunications Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the telecommunications construction industry is desirable.
  • Electrical Line Worker Associates degree or diploma is preferred.
  • Operation of bucket truck and climbing experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED desirable.

Salary Description
$25-$28/hour
