Telecom Data Center Technician

Mobile Telecom Switch and IT Experience Required - Please do not apply without having both of the required work experience.

Working within Norton, MA Data Center performing duties including but not limited to the following:

Ability to set IP Addresses on existing and new equipment

Cabling and labeling of existing network infrastructure

Removal of old equipment to on site dedicated storage space

Properly form, label, and secure new cabling 

Perform inventory of both new and old equipment

Ability to communicate professionally with clients and managers

Scope of work detail:

• Receive equipment and materials and perform inventory.
• Once notified from Ericsson that the equipment is “Out of Rotation”, begin to remove communication cables.
• Remove the existing switches and replace with the ones received on day 1. (reuse existing power cable and ground cable as much as possible)
• Pack old switches in the boxes the new ones came in and relabel the boxes, stack on pallet for shipping
• Relabel all equipment with new designation, take photo and submit to Ericsson
• Connect Console and Management cables to new switches and notify Ericsson for them to begin configurations.
• Install and label new communication cables for new design.
• Test communication cables with Ericsson engineer
• Dress cables and take final photos.  Submit to Ericsson.
• Get all clear from TMO and Ericsson.
