Title:Teen Tech Center Coordinator

Salary Range: $41,500 - $45,000/annually
Position Description:
The Teen Tech Center Coordinator will be the lead staff and supervisor at Keystone’s Best Buy Teen Tech Center located in St. Paul. This position will create a welcoming space focused on training and mentoring young people to use technology to explore their interest and develop new skills. The anticipated hours for this position will be from Monday – Friday, 10:30am – 6:30pm.
Essential Functions:
95% - Teen Tech Center Coordination
- Attending immersion Week with other new coordinators in the national network within the first 6 months of starting position.
- Provide community outreach to involve a diverse group of young people, parents, teachers, and community leaders in the program.
- Help Teen Tech Center members develop projects (coming up with ideas, gather materials, getting started, locate mentors to work with, and supporting ongoing work).
- Work closely with the local Best Buy store to recruit volunteers.
- Support youth in planning for the future, including pursing academic and job opportunities that leverage their Teen Tech Center skills and experience.
- Provide basic computer maintenance, including file management, trouble shooting, and technical support to Teen Tech Center youth and mentors.
- Participate in The Clubhouse Network, attending Network meetings, sharing ideas and issues, and supporting collaborative projects across sites.
- Support other programs and activities of the “parent” organization with Teen Tech Center expertise and resources, as time permits.
- Leverage Best Buy National Partner relationships to expose members to skill development and media training.
5% - Performs other duties or projects as assigned
Qualification Requirements
- A valid MN Driver’s License, current insurance, and acceptable driving record.
- Two years of college studying Education, Social Work, Youth Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience in youth development and strong track record of working with youth from underserved neighborhoods.
- Knowledge and experience in creating a meaningful environment.
- Experience with various technology and related software programs. (EX: computers, video cameras, music studio)
- Ability to plan effective and purposeful activities that build work readiness or technology skills in youth.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, educators, and community leaders including outreach efforts to each of these groups.
- Effective interpersonal skills including experience connecting with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities and a talent for making people feel welcomed and included.

Physical/Mental Requirements
Physical working conditions require that the person be able to participate in youth program activities. May require lifting and moving program equipment and supplies. During program, frequent standing and walking around the center.
Mental requirements include ability to effectively assist students with projects and ability to communicate professionally with Keystone staff, youth, families, community residents, and staff from other organizations.
