As Teen Program Staff, you will be responsible for providing supervision, leadership, and motivation for youth in Teen Programs while instructing class participants in various programs, games, and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor facility and ensure a safe, positive and fun environment. Confidently and tactfully, enforce YMCA policies.
- Organize activities as needed. Assist other staff as necessary.
- Provide instruction for correct and proper use of activity equipment when needed. Teach and demonstrate in a positive manner.
- Possess the knowledge and skills needed to instruct in program activities.
- Assist participants with questions, comments or concerns about Teen Programs.
- Create, develop and facilitate Teen Leadership clubs.
- Develop and promote teen leadership and volunteer opportunities within the branch and community.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Positive attitude and previous experience with youth ages 13 to 19 (preferred).
- Knowledge and skills in program activities and related equipment, and the ability to instruct participants in techniques.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (preferred).
- Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required.
