Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC) is seeking a dynamic Teen Program Director to oversee the daily operations of the Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club’s Teen Programs. This role will be responsible for managing programs designed to engage and support Club teens in their personal, educational, and social development. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, a passion for working with teenagers, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive environment.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
1. Oversee the daily operations and program delivery for the Teen Programming Department at the Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club, ensuring compliance with safety standards, departmental goals, and organizational policies.
2. Monitor the responsibilities of program staff, setting goals, evaluating performance, and promoting their professional development.
3. Ensure the elevation of Teen Programs by enriching curricula, strengthening resources, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
4. Handle disciplinary measures for Club teens, ensuring compliance with organizational protocols, and thorough documentation of all incidents.
5. Communicate vital information to members and families.
6. Develop innovative recruitment strategies to promote BGCSDC’s Teen Programs. Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in the recruitment process, identifying diverse target audiences and implementing effective methods to reach them.
7. Assist in the planning of special events, large projects, and special initiatives.
8. Manage the placement of STAR graduates onto government advisory boards and non-profit boards of directors, ensuring that students are matched to appropriate placements based on their skills, interests, and availability.
9. Manage and audit board placements of STAR graduates, ensuring students and adult advisors receive appropriate support and resources for a successful and meaningful partnership/board placement.
10. Collect and analyze data to access the effectiveness and impact of Club programs and use evaluation findings to improve program outcomes.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced Degree preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in youth development, leadership, or a related field preferred.

- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
