Description
Nuclear Medicine | Cape Girardeau, MO | Per Diem
- Performs in vivo and in vitro diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures
- Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection and inhalation methods
- Operates radiation detection and other equipment/devices as appropriate.
- Positions patient
- Immobilizes patients as necessary
- Calculates exposure factors
- Practices radiation protection
- Evaluates radiographs for technical quality
- Performs post-processing of images
- Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures
- Practices aseptic technique as necessary
- Assists physician with contrast media
- Initiates life support measures for patients, if necessary
- Assumes responsibility to assure exams and procedures
- Maintains IV skills
- Contributes to patient records
- Assumes responsibility for assigned area
- Provides input for equipment and supply purchase decisions
- Instructs specific units of didactic and/or clinical education, in the radiography program, if applicable
- In the absence of a supervisor, assumes acting supervisory responsibilities if requested
- Assumes responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program
- Pursues ongoing continuing education
- May control inventory and purchase of supplies for assigned area
- Duties require interaction with patients of various age groups, social and economic backgrounds Any other duties as needed to drive to the Vision, fulfill the Mission, and abide by the Values of the organization
- H.S. Diploma required
- Graduate Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Imaging Technology program, or equivalent required
- American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists - AART® Upon Hire required
- NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech Upon Hire required
- CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech Upon Hire required
- BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire required
- Registered in your modality specialty within 1 Year required
