Technician

Roanoke based - Office position

Position Summary:

We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Technician to join our team. In this role, you will participate in many aspects of installation of critical infrastructure projects to ensure they progress on schedule and within budget. You will work closely with other technicians and project engineers to best understand the needs of the customer. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, very organized, and has hands-on experience with MDF and data center products.

Performance objectives

• Perform basic battery and component installations in IT areas
• A high level ability to work with one’s hands and think on one’s feet
• Install, test, and repair for various job sites by following blueprints and diagrams to ensure correct installation locations
• Must be safety conscious
• Technical skills and knowledge of structured cabling systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent time management, planning, and decision-making skills

Qualifications

• Experience in working in IT areas is a plus
• High School level education at a minimum
• Certification through accredited program

Physical Requirements

• Work from various heights via platforms, scaffolds, ladders, or man-lifts
• Must be able to lift to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
• Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
• Requires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, and noisy
• This position will require travel - up to 30% - including weekends on occasion.
