Responsibilities:
- Partner with different task areas teams across individual and complementary programs to determine communication needs to estimate technical writing and editorial support needed to assure high-quality deliverables.
- Maintain responsibility for tech writing tasks – plan work, perform reviews, ensure technical writing assignments are completed on time, and perform continuous improvements.
- Create or maintain training materials – establish formats, mockups, prototypes, and present training materials to support internal team and client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other team areas to ensure quality processes are integrated and quality dates are met.
- Write and/or edit technical and training documents for a diverse set of stakeholders ranging from federal government stakeholders to contractors and grantees - including but not limited to; Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings, presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, and special reports.
- Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management, ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations.
- Research and gather technical and training background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables.
- Consult relevant information sources, including research resources, technical and financial contractual documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5 years of previous experience in a Technical Writing or Training role.
- Strong experience with tools such as Captivate, Snagit, PowerPoint, and other tools that support writing and training materials.
- Professional writing sample to share during the interview process.
- Expert in MS Word.
- Exceptional writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Clear and concise verbal communication.
- Ability to listen and capture information in a fast-paced environment.
- High degree of initiative, a self-starter.
- Desired experience working in a biomedical or public health agency
