ManTech is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Technical Writer / Content Designer to join our rapidly expanding team. This position assists in the development and documentation of software requirements, training content and data visualizations. This opportunity is remote.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand technical and functional project requirements
Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage
Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to project standards
Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation
Determines the scope and timeline of new documentation projects in order to plan projects
Coordinates project plans and determines resources
Develops department editing standards and styles
Recommends overall organization, layout, editorial standards, and publication methods
Researches, organizes, writes, edits and produces data for use in a wide variety of complex technical publications requiring in depth knowledge and understanding of the subject matter and allied fields.
Coordinates publication with outside sources and vendors as needed
Provides leadership to more junior technical writers/editors
Collaboration with technical and functional SMEs and leads
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Full range of content creation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, namely Word, PowerPoint, and conducing virtual meetings in Teams
Proficient in learning new software systems and being able to train other
Familiarity with industry best and standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Knowledge and experience of Federal Government Financial Management Systems Training
Security Clearance Requirements:
US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
