On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Write, compile, and edit highly technical documentation of critical importance for nuclear deterrence programs, working with a team of Technical Writers and Editors to see that the content meets the needs of intended audiences.
- Use your knowledge of document management best practices to manage information flow between Production Realization Teams (PRTs), customers, and management.
- Provide timely formatting and editing of assembly procedures, documents, presentations, and articles to ensure quality.
- Provide information storage locations for minutes, action items, decisions, and memos.
- Create editorial calendars and timelines to ensure that deliverables are produced to meet customer's needs.
- Gather accomplishments, produce monthly reports, prepare and edit documentation, ensure requirements are met, and assist with presentations for program reviews.
- Collaborate with coworkers, subject matter experts, and management to see that document editing expectations are met and that a collegial and professional atmosphere is maintained throughout the document's lifecycle.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or other relevant field plus five (5) years of experience in technical writing and editing; or Master's degree in a relevant field plus one (1) year of relevant experience; or equivalent experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Experience editing documents and managing their development.
- Experience with common office software, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or other relevant field, including a scientific field.
- Experience developing, planning, writing, and editing technical reports, factsheets, and presentations.
- Experience creating and managing editorial calendars that require collaboration with subject matter experts, multiple management levels, and peers.
- Experience with large file management systems and adhering to document sharing policies.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat and other Adobe Creative suite software.
- Proven ability to form positive customer relationships and develop document processes and procedures.
- Intermediate expertise with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn other MS Office software.
- Active Department of Energy Q security clearance.
