You will collaborate with many cross-functional teams, listening and drawing from their expertise, experiences, and needs. You will work within a fast-paced and dynamic working environment. You must know how to set a high bar for quality and accuracy for your documentation and you will hold your communications and action to the same standard.
This is a remote role working largely with teams on both the EST and PST time zones.
Responsibilities:
- Research, write, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documents such as user manuals, installation guides, procedure, specifications, quick starts, product web pages, tutorials, and other documents for Natron’s products and services. Ensure document compliance and conformity to corporate, regulatory, and global standards in addition to being easy to use.
- Study technical documentation, engineering drawings, and manufacturing drawings to describe process and end-use application or operation.
- Follow the processes as generated by the New Production Introduction (NPI) team and develop process flow diagrams to represent the process. Conduct reviews with Engineering, NPI, and Operations, to gain approval and then develop a procedure that is easy for the Ops team to follow.
- Coordinate the display of related graphics and/or utilize supplemental images, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate the material.
- Design and establish style guidelines and standards for text and illustrations
- Review, revise, edit, and proofread documents prepared by others
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of updates to documents
- Manage competing priorities with minimal guidance
- Coordinate as needed with various interdepartmental teams, including Engineering, Product Development, Production, Marketing, and Quality for review and approval of documentation
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of prior experience as a Technical Writer
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Superior command of the English language including rules and usage.
- Experience working cross-functionally to communicate the nuts and bolts of a process or procedure
- Experience writing new operating, maintenance, or manufacturing procedures for hardware systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Strong experience in improving end-to-end documentation creation processes to increase standardization, quality, customer satisfaction, and efficiency
- An ability to integrate raw technical inputs from Engineering, Operations, EHS, External Consultants, and other stakeholders to create cohesive, clear and logical documentation with minimal guidance
- Resourcefulness in researching and pulling from multiple sources of information in order to produce thorough written resources that stakeholders can depend on
- Excellent project management skills Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects - often autonomously

Preferred Qualifications:
- Meaningful prior experience working with or in a highly-regulated and safety-oriented industry
- Experience working with audio/video, unified communications, workplace solutions, control system hardware/software, integration and enterprise solutions
- Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Technical Communications, Engineering, and/or Science-related discipline with an emphasis on technical and/or process documentation or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Experience developing a product’s bill of materials
- Experience using a PLM system like Arena
- Experience with Microsoft Visio
- Proficient in desktop publishing tools such as Adobe Acrobat, as well as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
- Experience manipulating CAD models and graphical images to apply in user guides to simplify visualization for product or process understanding by end user
- Strong understanding of the systems development lifecycle
- Professional certification (ex: Society for Technical Communication)
- Willingness to travel to our other locations
Logistics:
- This is a six-month contract role with options of extension or conversion to a full-time role for the appropriate candidate
- Hourly rate of this role is based on the experience level of the candidate
