The Technical Writer writes technical documents for DMP dealers and end users. Documents include installation and programming manuals, product specification sheets and application notes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Technical Writer
- B.S./B.A. in Professional/Technical Writing, or equivalent experience
- Ability to learn system design and/or technical support functions in the burglar/fire alarm industry.
- Expert organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented, able to function well under pressure of deadlines, and proven success in handling several projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written communication skills. A mastery of spelling and grammar beyond the capabilities of spell-check software.
- Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills. Flexible, results-oriented team player
Responsibilities:
- Develops documentation set for each DMP product. Typical document set may include: installation and programming manuals, product specification sheets, application notes, installation diagrams, user's guides, etc.
- Coordinates activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each document, including in-process and final reviews, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, and change verification.
- Responsible for the scheduled routine update of all technical product documentation.
