Here are a few examples of what you’ll do as a member of the Technical Writer team:
As a Technical Writer at Principal in WSRS Learning and Development Solutions, you’ll use your skills to write, develop, and maintain business process documentation in web-based support systems. You’ll act as a trusted resource on content usability, writing, and information design to business partners and others in our department. Your primary responsibilities will be split between day-to-day maintenance requests and strategic projects.
Here are a few examples of what you’ll do as a member of the Technical Writer team:
- Write, develop, and maintain web-based technical documentation to support business processes, including adhering to site information architecture, best practices, editorial standards, and design guidelines.
- Consult with business partners and team members on information design standard methodologies, content delivery, and presentation strategies to develop accurate and user-friendly business process documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams and team members to ensure a consistent performance support experience.
- Assist in developing/editing content written from the user perspective. This includes both project and maintenance requests.
- Contribute to establishing and implementing documentation guidelines and developing techniques for documentation production and revision.
- Measure the effectiveness of performance support documentation by conducting usability testing to make data-driven information design decisions.

Who You Are:- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or technical writing preferred, or the equivalent.
- Advanced computer skills, along with interactive design (ex: Bootstrap, CSS, HTML), usability and accessibility, Information Mapping, and application of online documentation theory.
- Excellent written, oral, and listening skills.
Skills that will help you stand out:
- Experience with SharePoint Online and Dreamweaver is preferred.
- Ability to cultivate positive working relationships by partnering with subject matter experts to create/maintain business practices and consult on best practices.
- Exhibit strong project management skills to manage multiple projects and priorities, which includes planning, problem solving, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to detail.
Work Environments
This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
Job level
We'll consider talent up to the level V with the right experience and skills. Keep in mind, the minimum/maximum salaries provided do include the level II through the level V opportunity.
