The Red Hat SAP Enhanced Support team is looking for an enterprise-level Technical Support Engineer to join us remotely in North America. In this role, you will be critical to the success of Red Hat cloud technologies by serving as a technical expert supporting Red HatEnterprise Linux for SAP Solutions. You will regularly collaborate with colleagues from Red Hat, SAP, and technology partners and help support solutions that allow enterprise customers more easily install SAP on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Work location is flexible; well-qualified, home-based engineers in the U.S. and Canada will be considered to work remotely.
What you will do- Work with Red Hat partners and cloud providers to create joint solutions based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
- Test joint solutions with our partners and cloud providers preparing drafts for documentation
- Provide Technical Support to Red Hat enterprise customers customers by responding to incoming calls, chat, and web-based inquiries
- Partner closely with colleagues from Red Hat Sales to assist their understanding of the company's joint offerings with cloud providers
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with a globally-distributed team of engineers
- Document diagnostic steps and create reusable solutions for future incidents
- Contribute to regional and global initiatives and projects
- Be available to perform weekend shift duties on a rotational schedule when needed
- 3+ years of experience with Linux operating system installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance and a good understanding of Linux command line tools
- Experience installing SAP products, including SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, etc.
- Practical experience with cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google, Alibaba, etc.
- Software development background, including experience writing patches and with scripting languages like Bash, Perl, or Python
- Experience with cloud tecnologies like containers and Kubernetes is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills and a passion for problem solving and investigation
- Ability to succeed with minimal supervision with a globally-distributed team of engineers
