GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
You will help our employees solve their computer problems. You will monitor customer requests and track issues to completion. You will resolve issues involving operating systems, software applications, user errors, how-to questions, etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Provide telephone, e-mail, walk-in, and on-site Technical Support as needed for service calls assigned through the Help Desk according to Departmental procedures
  • Provide direct support to Museum staff for computer problems involving operating systems, software applications, user errors, how-to questions, etc.
  • Coordinate augmentative and collaborative support as needed for Technology Staff regarding challenging Help Desk call assignments for multiple users at a time.
  • Mentoring and instruct employees on the use of the Help Desk application and customer service skills to Technology staff, interns, apprentices, and others as assigned by the Manager
  • Install computers, related hardware, and software, and connect computer equipment to the Museums' LAN in collaboration with other Technology staff
  • Work independently to troubleshoot and diagnose computer problems, recommend solutions, resolve computer problems, or escalate calls to appropriate staff
  • Update Technical Support Staff regularly regarding problem resolutions discovered, document resolutions, and add information to the Technology Knowledge Base
  • Participate actively in Technical Support Team activities and meetings and update Technical Support Staff regularly regarding problem resolutions discovered
  • Assist with Virus protection software setup and use across all Museum PCs
  • Other related duties

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 years' experience supporting computers and networks preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (Off-hours, weekend, and holiday support)
  • Demonstrated experience with the installation and support of the following: Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Basic Networking solutions, MS Office 365, Virus Protection software, MAC operating systems, and software
  • Knowledge of SCCM, Kace, POS, and AD
  • Knowledge of current computer technologies, and all technologies in use at the Museum
  • MOUS/MCSE or equivalent a plus

COMPENSATION RANGE:
  • Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000
  • The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. The advertised pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage for any specific employee. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.

Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. "Commuting distance" means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the "Tri-state and PA" areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
