Technical Service Support Representatives manage communication with outdoor power equipment dealers and vendors as it relates to Technical Service Support. The primary function is to assist customers over the telephone with troubleshooting equipment technical problems. This equipment includes zero-turn riding mowers, garden tractors, grass trimmers, chain saws, blowers, and other lawn & garden related equipment. Additional responsibilities include warranty administration and approval for select brands as well as some in-house and occasional field service work.
Although the above job description captures the primary responsibility of a Technical Service Support Representative, other duties may include assisting with repair parts look-up, equipment assembly, delivering equipment to dealers, teaching repair and diagnostic skills to customers, and attending factory service schools.
A Technical Service Support Representative must have strong mechanical aptitude and experience with air cooled engines and hydraulics. Experience with outdoor power equipment is preferred, but experience with similar equipment, such as construction equipment or automobiles will be strongly considered.
