As a Technical Proposal Program Manager, you will oversee planning, development, and execution of the technical components of Busek’s proposals to meet customer specifications and deadlines for challenging and timely space missions. To thrive in this role, you will have experience managing the Technical Proposals for complex projects.

Busek researches, develops, and produces technologies for challenging space missions for small spacecraft in low-earth orbit, large geostationary satellites, and CubeSats and probes going to the moon and beyond. Our talented staff have collective expertise spanning in-space propulsion, space-borne sensors, materials science, manufacturing, and high-fidelity electronic design. Busek’s accomplishments include: the first US Hall Effect Thruster in space, the first Micro-PPT Thrusters, and the first flight Electrospray Thrusters. Our present efforts span high-volume and low-volume production of high-reliability in-space propulsion components and systems as well as development of novel processes and technologies.
Day to day activities:

Day to day activities:
- Coordinate proposal strategy discussions and kick-off meetings for pursuits and ensuring strategic win themes are effectively incorporated throughout the proposal process
- Analyze formal RFQ/P requirements and ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to all stated requirements
- Manage program execution to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals
- Identify unique characteristics within a bid: schedules, high hazard safety requirements, penalty clauses, subcontractors, material procurement and other risk management requirements
- Coordinate with the engineering team, management, subject matter experts, production, procurement, and quality to make sure project requirements are fully understood and consistent with contracted scope
- Work with internal teams on product and documentation requirements
- Assist with project bids and reviews
- Five to Seven years of experience leading the proposal process from prepositioning phases through interview and driving teams to develop compliant and competitive bids.
- 5+ Years’ experience with Technical Proposal Writing, including multi-year programs with total values $5M-100M.
- Functional technical background, enough to be conversant with the engineering team
- Proven ability to communicate with stakeholders via written reports and presentations
- Experience working within Government-funded R&D and production environments (e.g., NASA, DARPA, and the DoD).
