Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. We conduct operations within Alaska as around the world, utilizing our fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Our structure provides you with the family environment of a smaller company, and the competitiveness, expectations and rewards of a large, global organization.

Lynden Air Cargo is looking for a Technical Operations Intern. The intern will provide general technical and administrative assistance to the Technical Operations group which consists of a Technical Operations Specialist, Technical Publications Manager and VP of Technical Operations.
This is a seasonal position, with employment beginning around May through September, dependent on operational needs. 
 

Essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • The primary focus of this summer internship is onboarding the company's SharePoint site including, but not limited to, site structure and functionality, landing page layout, file transfer, file mapping, general site cleanup, and page permissions.

  • Assist the Technical Operations group with administrative tasks and other miscellaneous duties. 
  • Research or enter information into computers to provide assistance to Technical Operations, inquire on or update policy and procedures or standard operating practices, facilitate replies to internal customers.
  • Assist in the company's paperless initiatives by using various software and equipment to scan documents into an organized workflow for easy retrieval and review.  Support the implementation of a paperless cockpit and paperless workflows within the company using commercial software applications on windows and iOS devices managed via mobile device management software. 
  • Assist with projects on an as-needed basis such as scanning documents, organizing information, presenting information, creating, revising and standardizing documents, working on company's SharePoint site and webserver, Monday.com site, developing training modules or training documentation
  • Responsible for on-premise and web based work, and the use of software tools such as, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access, Oracle, Tableau, along with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint online, and other web based tools.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Successful candidates should be currently enrolled in undergraduate program. Candidates are required to have high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, vendors, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to speak clearly and produce quality written communications. Ability to effectively present information to individuals or small groups.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to operate copier, scanner, and other basic office equipment.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of equipment, office products, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
 

Must be able to pass a post-hire fingerprint-based criminal history records check with no disqualifying criminal offenses. Must pass a post-conditional offer of employment drug test. Random drug testing is required of all Lynden Air Cargo employees.
