Job Description Summary
The Engineering Software Quality and Support Technical Leader will be responsible for providing leadership of the Software Quality Support team for the software created and used for both internal and external software applications. In addition, you will manage complex issues within the functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall engineering strategy. You will apply your knowledge of management, best practices, and proven processes to lead teams to deliver quality support for existing and new applications on budget, and within planned schedule. The tech lead will plan, assign, and align staff within programs of activities. The tech lead delivers technical work, typically specifications, protocols, and architecture diagrams. The tech lead is responsible for establishing standard work practices, creating and maintaining work plans, and reviewing work product of others.Preferred work location is GE Hitachi Nuclear headquarters in Wilmington NC, but highly qualified remote (US Based) candidates will be considered.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Proven technical expertise, executing project support/leadership within a particular technical area of application and infrastructure support.
- Use Lean principles to drive continuous improvement, create visible work flow, establish prioritized work cadence, identify and drive value
- Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
- Have accountability to work with the GEH engineering, Product Management and Project Delivery teams to fulfill the needs nd support of Engineering Software and tools.
- Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering roles
- Minimum 8 years of experience with Engineering Design Tools, Software Quality, Infrastructure Support, Application Support, Infrastructure Support, IT Project Management
Eligibility Requirements
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics
- Experience in a regulated industry such as: power, process, marine, medical or oil and gas but preferably nuclear under a 10 CFR 50 Appendix B Quality Program for safety-related systems, structures, and components.
- Experience with international standards such as the IEC standards.
- Experience with product configuration management and controls.
- Demonstrated training or proficiency in software systems architecture.
- Knowledge of nuclear business products, business processes, customers, and competitive environment
- Operate at a senior level within the organization.

The salary range for this position is $112-158k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
