HTRI seeks an individual to edit and format technical documents, including electronic rendering of schematics and graphics, as well as to create, manage, and revise software documentation projects. This position offers a hybrid schedule, with some workdays at our Navasota, Texas headquarters.
Principal Responsibilities
- Edit (both online and hard copy) and format documents, including electronic rendering of supporting graphics. Ensure consistency and quality of documents that reflect corporate image.
- Edit and compile software documentation projects. Ensure well-constructed online help projects that are consistent among the various software components; provide end-users with an effective point-of-use reference.
- Format technical presentations and posters. Ensure content is presented in accordance with the HTRI Style Guide and conventional grammar standards, as well as convey information in an intelligible manner to a global audience.
- Develop and present sessions on writing techniques and related software tools. Serve as a resource for staff requiring assistance with written communications and online output.
Qualifications
- BA or BS in English, Technical Writing, or Journalism OR BA or BS in a STEM discipline with a minor in Technical Writing
- Master of standard word processing and graphics software used by HTRI
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication and presenting abilities (both oral and written)
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
