The Ideal Candidate
Reporting to the Director, DC Systems, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing WMS systems in the Journeys, Johnston & Murphy, and Genesco Brands Group Distribution Centers. Partnering with the DC management teams to provide quick solutions to operational issues is key. Problem solving, data mining, and process improvement skills are critical. Additionally, this role will help keep hardware in peak operating condition. Based in Lebanon, TN and working under the primary direction of the DC management teams, this role will look to the Director of DC Systems for iSeries administration and programming standards. Clear communication, accurate and timely output, and working with urgency are critical success factors in this position.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Provide leadership to major DC projects including physical inventory and upgrades of the WMS.
- Serve as an active participant in the DC management team.
- Serve as the escalation for issues with the WMS or hardware in the Distribution Centers.
- Provide detailed analysis and expert solutions to operational issues from the DCs.
- Provide experienced programming skills to deliver solutions.
- Configure and test Manhattan WMi systems.
- Design and implement modifications to the WMi system.
- Design and develop labels in compliance with customers.
- Provide research for the DC and Business division by data mining the WMS systems.
- Lead the hardware procurement and maintenance efforts, including printers, RF, and scanners.
- Support the RF maintenance system for upgrades and new implementation of RF units.
- Maintain system security standards including setting-up and terminating associates.
- Serve on the business continuity / disaster recovery team.
- This position will need to be available for after hour support, including weekends.
Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems is preferred.
- 10+ years of RPG IV, CL, SQL programming.
- 10+ years of experience with Manhattan WMi.
- 10+ years in DC systems design.
- Excellent working knowledge of iSeries commands and system administration required.
- Strong skills managing hardware systems including RF, Printers, cubiscan.
- Experience in both retail and wholesale distribution preferred.
- Experience managing consultants on-site and off-site preferred.
- Experience in leading process improvement efforts in a DC setting a plus.
- Experience in leading process improvement efforts is preferred.
- Project Management experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the business.

- On-call duty required. Some travel may be required.
