ABOUT CHIEF'S

Chief's is a six-story bar, restaurant, and live music venue designed to celebrate Eric Church's ever-expanding musical legacy. Located in historic downtown Nashville, Chief's will feature a ticketed music venue, inspirational interiors, and a thoughtful focus on unique live performances, offering fans an unparalleled entertainment experience in Music City. Chief's will house a studio for live broadcasting, inclusive of Church's Outsiders Radio SiriusXM channel, with the capability of hosting broadcasts by various media partners. Chief's will also feature a restaurant partnership with James Beard Award Winning Pitmaster Rodney Scott. Rodney Scott's Whole Hog BBQ will overlook downtown with its 'Hell of a Q' rooftop offering. Situated at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Broadway, Chief's is set to open at 200 Broadway.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Technical Director/Staff Technician's position is integral to the success of the concerts, events, and productions taking place at Chief's. They will assist the Production Manager in maintaining the high level of production value that set events and shows at Chief's apart from other venues and ensure patrons will want to return for years to come. They will assist in the operation, maintenance, and regular upkeep of all things Audio/Video related, and act as a resource for freelance engineers, managers, and Chief's BOH/FOH staff to ensure the success of the venue.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

· Work in-house 5 days a week (depending on programming needs).

· Operating lighting and/or sound consoles as needed for concerts, events, productions.

· Advance upcoming events, concerts, productions in tandem with the Production Manager.

· Assist in scheduling freelance techs and labor as needed, in tandem with the Production Manager.

· Assist with the inventory, organization, storage, and maintenance of all A/V equipment.

· Participate in team meetings with some or all departments, as needed and requested.

· Set up the various spaces as required to fulfill the needs of the event, concert, etc. taking place, including assisting with load-in and load-out for these events.

· Act as a point of contact on behalf of the venue when dealing with artists, clients, etc. Warmly greet these individuals and provide a welcoming, hospitable environment.

· If needed, assist with general hospitality tasks including (but not limited to); dealing with food and beverage orders, adequately preparing the greenroom space, dealing with onstage requests for beverages, towels, etc.

· Ensure spaces are set appropriately in anticipation of welcoming patrons, show attendees, guests, etc., including appropriate lighting looks, house music, video content.

· Manage and make sure the schedule of the event/concert/production is relayed to all parties involved, including Chief's staff, artists and performers, event planners and participants, etc.

· As related to the point above, giving call times as needed to ensure adherence to the schedule.

· Keep working knowledge of Chief's brand, history, culture, and programming

· Navigate venue conditions, including tight spaces, dark rooms, and loud environment

· Maintain an organized and clean workspace

· Maintain positive guest engagement and create memorable experiences

· Take initiative, follow-through on requests until completion, and utilize a keen attention to detail

· Perform other related duties as assigned by the Leadership team

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

· Prior Production and A/V experience in a live music/events venue/environment.

· Experience mixing both FOH and monitors simultaneously for live music.

· As related to the above point, experience on Allen and Heath and/or Digico audio consoles preferred.

· Running stage lighting either independently or while mixing preferred.

· Basic video knowledge, including operation, basic editing, file types and formats preferred.

· Strong ability to quickly adapt to any situation and make the appropriate changes and adjustments to ensure the event/production continues without delay.

· Solid people skills, pleasant/positive demeanor and welcoming attitude.

· Previous advancing/event planning experience a plus.

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.

· Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work both as a team and independently

· Ability to take direction, and communicate effectively and professionally

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, using stairs, able to lift loads of up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to determine the best way to handle potentially large and unwieldy heavy and/or fragile equipment in a way that is safe for both the mover and the gear itself.

· Ability to sustain loud noise volume.
