JOB SUMMARY:

Our Tech DeskStudent Employees are an integral part of Innovation Technology Services and a valuable resource to the University's Students, Faculty, and Staff. Working at the Tech Desk involves collaborating with other Student Employees as well as full time staff to field emails, phone calls, in-person visits, and answering questions on all matter of technologies.

A Service Desk Student Senior Technician is an experienced member of the Tech Desk student staff that has proven to be reliable, knowledgeable, trustworthy and willing to take on more responsibility.

Service Desk Student Technician

• Provide technical assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors
• Answer Tech Desk phones promptly in a professional manner and greet in-person patrons
• Create, sort and maintain service request tickets
• Monitor ticketing queues and respond to clients
• Monitor emails and chats and create tickets
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on a variety of computer systems
• Provide password and login assistance for users
• Provide assistance with computers, copiers, classroom equipment and other resources and devices
• Stock campus printers with toner and staples and troubleshoot issues
• Respond to classroom emergencies and provide assistance/minor repair with assistance from staff through teams
• Provide coaching/training on basic service offerings to fac/staff/students
• Provide training to newer/less-experienced/less-knowledgeable peers
• Serve as an information resource during your shift for the rest of the team
• Other miscellaneous technology-related tasks.

Shift Info

We are currently looking for specific availability to cover open hours in this Spring Semester's schedule. Applicants should be available to cover at least some of the below hours as well as able to work 10+ hours per week.

St Paul Campus

• Mondays - 8am-2pm
• Mondays - 9am-12pm
• Tuesdays - 7am-10am
• Wednesdays - 10am-12:30pm
• Wednesdays - 8am-12pm
• Thursdays - 7am-12pm (X2)
• Thursdays - 8am-12pm
• Fridays - 8am-12pm
• Fridays - 7am-11am

Minneapolis Campus

• Mondays - 11am-1pm
• Tuesdays - 7am-9am
• Thursdays - 7am-9am

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
