Job Description
The Team Lead I - Corporate Verification works closely with other leaders of the organization; particularly Scheduling, Surgical, and Clinical practices. The position communicates effectively and provides utmost customer service to all customers; both internal and external. The position oversees the daily coordination of efforts with departments, payers, and patients. The Team Lead works alongside their team daily and ensures notice of admissions are secured timely protecting the organization from denials, authorization obtained, and estimates created for the scope of encounters verified. The Team Lead ensures each of these aspects of proper financial clearance are completed for all scheduled diagnostic testing, surgical cases, and admissions across the organization. The position works with vendor partners to create an efficient optimized workflow with each system use. The Team Lead actively audits estimates and authorizations ensuring regulatory compliance. The Team Lead, in working with the Manager of Access Support Services, ensures open communication is shared with all points of Access leadership on status of accounts and daily work queues.
Responsibilities
  • Oversees all facets of the Call Center to ensure work is being processed efficiently and accurately.
  • Understands fully the functionality of and trains team members in all patient access related systems
  • Understands all aspects of insurance verification protocols and processes for departments within Baptist Health Care and Baptist Medical Group.
  • Performs Quality Assurance (QA) on all team members per Departmental guidelines and provides exception reports to staff and Management.
  • Completes all divisional education requirements in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to maintain a competent, highly trained staff and ensure a high level of accuracy and completeness from verification personnel.
  • Provides daily supervision for the team's activities and performance of personnel.
  • Compiles and reconciles daily, weekly and monthly QA reports and submits reports to Manager.
  • Participates in interview of all perspective employees and presenting offer to selected applicant.
  • Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • 2 years healthcare administrative function experience is required
  • 2 years supervisory/leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle function preferred
