The West Seneca Central School District has an immediate opening for a Teaching Assistant at Northwood Elementary. This is a full-time, probationary appointment for a position serving grades K-5 classrooms.
Primary Function: The Teaching Assistant is responsible for helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment and to assist every student in reaching his/her potential. The Teacher Assistant is to act as a positive role model for students and to strive for quality and promote pride in all District endeavors and to fulfill the Mission of the District.

The vacancy is a full-time (1.0 FTE), probationary position effective immediately. Salary and benefits (Health & Dental), paid according to the West Seneca Teachers Association collective bargaining agreement, will be offered to the selected candidate.
Job Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold NYS certification. Experience in an elementary classroom setting and a literacy background is preferred but not required.
Required Certification(s):Teaching Assistant (Levels I; II; or III) or certification in a NYS Part 30 tenure area
Additional Certification(s) preferred : Elementary Education (Childhood and/or Early Childhood Education)
