Job Description
Sylvan Learning of Omaha is looking for a part-time Reading and Math Tutor to join our team. This individual contributor role will pay a competitive hourly wage of $14 to $17 per hour. The primary responsibility of the position is to provide one-on-one academic support to students in a personalized learning environment.
Compensation:
- $14 - $17/hr depending on experience
- Up to 35% discount on tutoring services.

Responsibilities:
- Prepares for each instructional session; Gathers and prepares materials as appropriate
- Follow all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child in your classroom.
- Implement our proprietary curriculum while creating fun, interactive learning experiences for the children.
- Manages students, tasks, and time to create a balanced and robust instructional session
- Facilitate a personalized learning program for each student
- Develop a rapport with our students to boost their academic confidence
- Coordinate and conduct student and parent reviews
- Keep accurate records of student progress
- Maintain a Goodwill Ambassador attitude at all times

Requirements & Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related subject, such as education, or a field of expertise, such as math or English is preferred but not required
- Previous teaching and/or tutoring experience with elementary, middle, or high school students is required
- Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
- Proven success in consulting and/or working with parents and students
- Communicate student progress with parents and guardians
- Creative and energetic
- Must have reliable transportation
