Job description

CA STEM Institute for Innovations and Improvement (CSI3) Program Assistant
CSUDH Toro Auxiliary Partners
About CSUDH Toro Auxiliary Partners
The California State University, Dominguez Hills Toro Auxiliary Partners was incorporated in 1968 as a partner of the California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) to provide services and develop and enhance programs that are an integral part of the University's educational mission. CSUDH is a highly diverse, metropolitan university primarily serving the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Established in 1960, CSUDH is one of the 23 campuses that comprise the California State University system.
The California STEM Institute for Innovation and Improvement (CSI3) is dedicated to providing preservice and in-service teachers with a combination of educational and experiential learning. One of our goals is to recruit, train, place, and retain highly qualified teacher candidates to serve in high-needs school. Through all of our programs, CSI3 is systematically addressing the shortage of STEM teachers in high-need schools in and around the Los Angeles area and across the state. CSI3 has developed innovative undergraduate, credential, graduate, and specialized programs, and received some of the largest educational grants in the country.
The Teacher Support Institute (TSI), under the direction of CSI3, seeks to provide novice teachers with peer collaboration and support throughout their first year of teaching in an urban, high-needs school. The goal of TSI is to establish a network of teachers, working collaboratively, to plan, design, reflect and build onto their pedagogical practices, in order to retain strong educators in the field, provide for a less stressful first-year of teaching, and lower teacher attrition in urban, high-needs schools.
Position Information
The Teacher Support Institute Lead Teacher is a non-exempt position within the Foundation's Part-Time, Non-Benefited employment classification.
Employment at Toro Auxiliary Partners is on an at-will basis and can be terminated by either an employee or Toro Auxiliary Partners at any time with or without cause or advanced notice. Permanent status can neither be obtained nor granted.
