Our client is an independent investment adviser and asset manager that provides research, advisory, and investment services. As a leader in alternatives, they work with institutional investors and investment services across the alternative investment landscape. The firm helps clients develop customized, diversified portfolios that balance return, volatility, and liquidity most effectively.
The firm is currently seeking a candidate in their Chicago office for the position of Associate - Treasury and Operations to join their growing team of investment professionals focused on middle market direct lending strategies. The position is primarily responsible for treasury and operations management with an emphasis on reconciliation and break resolution for the firm's direct lending funds.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the trade closing and post close reconciliation process. Obligations include, but are not limited to:
Confirm receipt and accurate application of incoming trade wires.
Work closely with Fund Administrator and Custodian for trade processing.
Facilitate Participation Agreements and work toward elevation to Lender of Record.
Collaborate with internal and external teams on the logistics for upcoming trades/deals.
Assure workflow completion and documentation in the CRM system.
Monitor data accuracy in systems and external vendors.
Assign deal flow and ensure coverage of upcoming trades.
Manage document retention for the audit process including the collection and organization of audit documents.
Assist in projects and identification of issues and areas for process improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a preferred concentration in finance, accounting, or economics.
2 to 3 years of hands-on experience a must.
Good understanding of loan operations with exposure to asset management and alternative investments.
Strong attention to detail and highly organized with the proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to prioritize competing priorities with minimal supervision in a cross-functional team environment.
Strong written and communication skills.
The position is located in their Chicago office on a hybrid schedule (TBD).
