Position Purpose

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Instruction
- Serves as the second teacher in a general education classroom (this role cannot serve as the teacher of record).
- Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned program activities; communicates progress of interventions to teachers and administration.
- Meets with grade level / content teams to design solutions for student growth and achievement.
- Monitors and modifies at-risk program interventions based on data and evaluation in conjunction with adjunct staff from Texas Wesleyan University and the campus leadership team.
- Provides regular small group instruction for at-risk identified students on an ongoing basis.
- Works closely with Certified Teacher to obtain feedback/coaching and implements the feedback.
- Serves as teaching staff for Fort Worth ISD and participates in Summer Texas Wesleyan University Programming.
- Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task.
- Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
- Constructs, distributes, copies and uses educational materials as needed.
- Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
- Assists with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.

- Knowledge of mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and operations.
- Skill at the intermediate level, working with Microsoft Office 365, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Skill in calculating fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions for practical situations.
- Skill in writing reports to leaders and writing instructions to students.
- Ability to assist students with simple math such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.

- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 2.5 GPA cumulate or for last 60 hours;
- Must be accepted and enrolled in the Texas Wesleyan University Program.
