POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sugarbush Day School is looking once again for winter staff that are willing to come work our busy weekend and holiday periods with us at our center. Teachers, Student Support Staff, Interventionist etc. are all welcome to apply. All must commit to working 10 Full Days with us at our center during weekends, and holiday periods throughout the winter season. All must complete a Childcare Background Check and fingerprinting. (This check and fingerprinting is different than the required AOE one that most have completed.) In return for your time with us, you will be given a full access pass to Sugarbush Resort: Alterra Mountain Company, as well as be able to purchase greatly discounted passes for your family ($99/spouse, $50/child) Sugarbush Day School is a childcare facility located at the resort that offers both Local and employee care year-round, and non-Recurring care in the winter months for resort guests. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program for each day.
  • Carry out planned activities implemented by the Room Leader.
  • Feed the children according to schedule set forth.
  • Ensure that the equipment used daily, and facility (room area) are cleaned thoroughly and remain a safe environment at all times.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures.
  • Ensure that children are supervised at all times and in compliance with Non-Recurring Childcare guild lines.
  • Provide opportunities for sleep and rest.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable in.
  • Implement positive discipline when needed.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with the children and other staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school education or a combination of education and experience from which equal skills and knowledge are acquired.
  • Three references in childcare.
  • One completed course in Early Childhood or Human/Child Development and at least 1-year experience in a child care center.
  • Specialized skills in some form of activity applicable to children's interest and the school's programming.
  • Well-developed customer service skills.
  • The ability to handle customer complaints and special requests and interact effectively with customers and coworkers.
