Dual Language Chinese Grade K-2 Teacher - Bolton Primary School
The start date for this position is 8/20/2024.
The Salary listed is based on the Current Salary Schedule and does not reflect a yet to be negotiated Cost of Living Adjustment for the 2024-2025 School Year.
The successful candidates will teach in a Primary Dual Language classroom in Chinese (Mandarin) and English in a 50/50 Dual Language model; will provide strong and engaging learning to develop students' bilingualism, bilteracy and cultural understanding; will provide strong learning experiences for students in literacy, mathematics, social studies, science and the arts in an inclusive and equitable classroom community; and collaborate to develop the Chinese Dual Language Program.
The Dual Language teachers should be fluent in both English and Mandarin and experience with Dual Language program is preferred. Dual Language teacher qualification preferences include ESOL, GLAD or experience with two-way Dual Language Program.
Position Description:
Duties include providing learning experiences for a Dual Language classroom; contributing to new program design; working with small and large groups and individual students; creating a vibrant learning environment where all students are engaged. Cooperation with colleagues and parent volunteers is essential.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Planning for the instructional needs of all students; Attending to the special needs of students; Teaching high expectations for student achievement and behavior;
  • Implementing state and district curriculum; Providing instruction that promotes all skill development, knowledge, and reasoning;
  • Using a variety of assessments to inform instruction; Creating an environment that maximizes student learning with a focus on character development;
  • Developing partnerships that enhance student learning;
  • Modeling and teaching respect with an awareness of diversity; Demonstrating continuous professional growth.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of best practices in teaching;
  • Masters Degree preferred;
  • Oregon teaching license in assigned area(s) and proper endorsements;
