Teacher Child Care

Valley Child Care, #1001 is looking for self-motivated individuals to join our team. A Child Care teacher must have patience and enjoy working with children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of child development, as well as, the ability to engage them while making learning fun.

***The position is Monday through Friday, you MUST be able to work five days a week.

***You MUST be able to work into the afternoons. The hours will average 25 -35 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Employ a variety of educational techniques to teach the children while planning and implementing activities that promote their social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Responsible for the safety of all children in the group.
• Responsible for the care, diapering, learning, and developmental activities of the group.
• Observe each child to help them improve their social skills and self-esteem.
• Guide children to develop their abilities while using a curriculum.
• Track children’s progress and report to parents.
• Collaborate with other teachers.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom consistent with health and safety standards.

Skills

• Understanding of child development and preschool educational methods.
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills.
• Ability to act as mediator between children.
• Must have reliable attendance.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain it
• Food Handler Card or willingness to obtain it

Job Requirements

• * **Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.***
• * **Must have a minimum of six months prior experience working in a licensed Child Care center or school setting.
• * Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• * Must have Reliable Transportation.
• * **Ability to obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time.
• *Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
