- Educational Aide Certification.
- Continuing Education: Must complete 15 hours of "professional growth" annually, which is provided and/or approved by the SBISD Health Administrator.
- Ability to work and communicate with children and adults.
- Fluent in English (speaking and writing); bilingual preferred.
- Ability to perform indoor and outdoor activities.
- Ability to perform and demonstrate activities that involve a variety of materials and equipment and/or activities that are physically active.
- Acceptable experience with young children.
- Adhere to Texas Education Agency and district policies and procedures.
- Plan cooperatively and on a regular basis with the Health Fitness Specialist.
- Create and maintain a suitable environment for all students in Pre-K through 5th grade, including the physically and emotionally challenged.
- Help supervise, organize and maintain a system of class management.
- Assist children in participating in a variety of activities.
- Cooperatively plan for and assist children in participating in a variety of activities and provide independent instruction.
- Maintain records and perform clerical duties related to Health Fitness classes.
- Maintain a physically and emotionally safe indoor and outdoor environment.
- Prescribe and implement assessment.
- Order materials/supplies and prepare and organize materials and equipment daily.
