Maple Hall is seeking a full time Teacher Aide to join our academic team.
Pay Scale: $14.45 - $20.45
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7 am - 3 pm
Summary
A Teacher Aide is responsible for assisting the Teacher in maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment for an assigned student(s) while adhering to the structure of the daily schedule. A Teacher Aide will also assist teachers, clinicians, and other staff with the supervision, implementation, and facilitation of classroom activities, while identifying and intervening in potential crisis situations for an assigned student(s).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a nurturing environment with firm boundaries:
- Build rapport with assigned student(s).
- Ensure proper supervision of student(s) for safety.
- Accompany and monitor activities, and whereabouts, on and off campus, of student(s) with line of sight policy within reason and your discretion at all times.
- Role model healthy boundaries, interactions, and respectful communication.
- Interact with student(s) fairly and objectively, considering his/their individual needs.
- Assist student(s) in problem solving and identifying solutions to peer conflicts.
- Provide student(s) with clear, specific and timely feedback in a respectful manner.
- Effectively communicate choices to student(s), outlining positive and negative consequences of his/their choice(s).
- Classroom/Group:
- Assist teachers with short and long term goals of student(s).
- Assist teachers with student(s) accommodations per ILP, IEP, or 504 plans.
- Re-direct student(s) if he/they attempt(s) to leave class or become disruptive per teacher requests.
- Assist clinicians and coach student(s) during group settings if necessary.
- Collaborate:
- Communicate/meet/plan with various departments.
- Implement treatment plan of student(s).
- Complete all necessary student documentation:
- Document student(s) behavior in log during shift.
- Complete incident reports as needed.
- Attend, participate in and complete all mandatory staff meetings/trainings as directed.
