Job Title: Classroom Teacher Aide/Assistant (for Young Children with Special Needs)

- Time Off: For those supporting our 12-month program, during the school year, you have ample time off, approximately 45 days. We also have a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy:
· Full-time TAs can earn up to 12 PTO days per year and may accumulate up to 20-days.
· Part-time TAs accumulate PTO at a rate of 1 hour /per 30 hours worked, up to 56 hours.
At VCLC, we encourage employee referrals. For the referral of a Teacher Aide/Assistant we offer a $1,000.00 referral bonus.
So what will you do as a Teacher Aide/Assistant:
· You will assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized educational plans for each student, focusing on their unique needs and abilities.
· You will provide support to students with special needs in various classroom activities, including academics, social skills development, and personal care.
· You will assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
· You will monitor and track student progress, documenting observations and providing feedback to the lead teacher.
· You will assist with behavior management techniques and strategies, promoting a supportive and respectful classroom environment.
· You will collaborate with therapists, specialists, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with special needs children; flexibility and adaptability; excellent communication and interpersonal skill
Salary range: up to $21 an hour.
