The R&D Tax Senior Associate at Armanino is responsible for assisting clients in identifying and maximizing federal and state research and development (R&D) tax credits and incentives. They will work closely with clients to gather the necessary information and documentation to prepare R&D tax credit claims.
Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct client interviews and meetings to gather technical information about their research and development activities
  • Analyze technical documentation, financial data, and other information to identify qualified R&D activities and expenses
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and tax professionals, to gather the necessary information for preparing the R&D tax credit claim
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to support the R&D tax credit claim
  • Perform calculations and quantitative analysis to compute the eligible R&D tax credits and incentives
  • Review and analyze tax returns and financial statements to identify tax planning opportunities related to R&D tax credits
  • Keep up to date with the latest R&D tax credit regulations and tax laws to ensure compliance and maximize tax benefits for clients
  • Assist in providing client support during tax audits or examinations related to R&D tax credits
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, reviewing their work, and sharing best practices
  • Build and maintain client relationships through excellent service delivery and proactive communication

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax consulting/compliance within public accounting with a focus on R&D tax incentives

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Taxation
  • CPA, JD, EA or equivalent credential

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. Compensation Range for this position: $67,000-$110,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
