Job Description
1. DESCRIPTION: Growing Tax Preparation, Bookkeeping, and Tax Law Firm needs Experienced Tax Preparer/Tax Accountant to
a. Prepare business tax returns – 1065, 1120,1120S,
b. Prepare Non-Profit tax returns – 990,
c. Prepare Trust and Estate returns – 1041,
d. Prepare personal returns – 1040, Sch A, B, C, D, E, F, H, and all other schedules,
e. Prepare state income, franchise, property, and sales tax returns,
f. Work with other tax pros to discuss, prepare, and troubleshoot returns,
g. Meet with clients to gather information,
h. Work with staff bookkeepers to review bookkeeping, accounts, and quickbooks files for clients,
i. Work with directly with owner Tax Attorney and other team members to develop and implement advanced tax planning for income tax and transfer tax, including trusts, limited partnerships, LLCs, series LLCs, and other business structures
j. Manage systems and processes for effective workflow of tax returns, bookkeeping, and client matters,
k. And perform daily duties, such as
i. Answering calls, responding to emails, and assisting clients,
ii. Drafting correspondence with the IRS,
iii. Preparing billing and invoicing clients,
iv. Tracking flow of client information, returns, and data,
v. Use firm best practices to secure client information,
vi. Sending and receiving confidential information via multiple digital platforms, and
vii. Working with a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment.
l. Applicant must have good communication skills and interact with clients in a courteous and professional way. Applicant should have good computer skills, a willingness to learn, and a teachable spirit.
2. COMPUTER SKILLS:
a. Microsoft Office (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
b. Outlook
c. One drive, Google Drive, DropBox, and other cloud storage
d. Quickbooks Desktop and Online – desired
e. UltraTax experience a real plus
3. EDUCATION: Bachelor degree or higher. Desire to continue growing.
4. CREDENTIALS: Attorney, CPA, and Enrolled Agents welcomed to apply.
5. EXPERIENCE: Past tax experience required.
6. FULL-TIME or PART TIME - Potential for position to grow.
7. COMPENSATION: Depends on experience.
8. RESPONSIBILITY: The applicant would report to the firm owner and would serve with the tax professionals to meet the clients’ needs in a timely and responsive fashion.
