Tax /Office Support Specialist

Our growing accounting firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax/Office Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide vital administrative and technical support to our accounting professionals, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our team.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain filing systems (both physical and digital) for financial documents.
• Correspond with clients in a professional and courteous manner to schedule meetings, update account information, and obtain financial documentation.
• Provide general administrative support to the team, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, managing calendars, preparing presentations/reports, and maintaining office supplies.
• Prepare and process engagement letters.
• Perform data entry, invoicing, and payments.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records in QuickBooks.
• Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.
• Stay up to date on accounting software updates and correspond with accounting software help desks as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an office management or administrative role, one year of tax experience preferred.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (familiarity with debits and credits).
• Excellent typing skills with a high level of accuracy
• Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries professionally
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
• Experience working in QuickBooks, TaxAct, Tax Dome or other accounting software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with the team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $27.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
