Saltmarsh is currently seeking a strong Trust and EstateTax Manager that sees themselves as a leader who wants to join a firm that fosters both personal and professional development and supports the drive for advancement. This person would need to live in our near one of our office locations, preferably in Pensacola, FL .
Our Tax Managers are responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their objectives, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. You are charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues as well as recognizing and communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be critical components to your success in this role. You will have direct client contact and will be asked to communicate virtually with your team, on a consistent basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
- CPA or JD required
- 4-8+ years minimum Trust and Estate experience, preferably with a public accounting or law firm or similar industry
- Prepare and review complex federal, state and local fiduciary income tax returns and Estate tax returns
- In-depth understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding reading of wills and trust documents and research on complex estate and fiduciary income tax issues
- Build relationships and interact with new and existing clients to provide excellent planning and consulting, especially participating in estate planning for high net worth individuals and families
- Communicate complex information concisely and check for client understanding regularly
- Involved in the marketing, networking, and business development within an areas of expertise and specialization
- Responsible for billing and profitability of all assigned engagements
- Reinforce firm culture along with mentoring and coaching others
- Review work prepared by staff and senior associates and provide review comments
- Train staff and seniors how to use all current software tools
- Must be analytical with the ability to see the big picture
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams)
- Familiarity with RIA Checkpoint Edge and CCH Axcess Tax software a plus
