Tax Manager - 1685665

As the Tax Manager, you will assume an integral part of our tax department, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely reporting, as well as providing support to various teams within the organization. Your leadership, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex engagements will be essential to your success in this position.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all necessary tax filings at the Federal, State, and Local levels, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Review federal and state tax withholding requirements, providing detailed investor-level information to the fund accounting group, and ensuring all reports are accurate.
• Prepare and file limited local jurisdiction filings (franchise tax, sales tax, CAT tax, personal property tax), ensuring timely submissions and maintaining organized records.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with all relevant tax laws, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
• Coordinate all REIT testing conducted by external firms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with outside firm to maintain the fixed asset management system.
• Organize and prepare responses to all tax jurisdiction notices.
• Prepare and submit ASC740/FIN 48 Memos to auditors and tax preparers.
• Provide support to audit teams and assist with annual and interim audits.
• Provide accurate and timely reports for both internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies, including ad hoc requests as needed.
• Maintain and update the tax filing tracker, prepare weekly summary reports, and schedule work to be completed by service providers.
• Coordinate cost segregation studies, track results, and ensure accurate reporting.
• Assist in the distribution and completion of PSQs for REIT due diligence testing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA license preferred.
• Strong 4+ years of experience in public accounting (or equivalent industry experience) with a proven ability to manage complex engagements.
• Proven experience in tax management with a deep understanding of Federal, State, and Local tax regulations.
• Self-motivated with a track record of developing relationships, managing teams, and meeting deadlines.
• Superb organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel and data management systems.
