Tax Attorney

We are looking for a full-time Senior Tax Attorney to join our team in our Hackensack NJ office. Our firm is particularly interested in candidates with extensive experience working with personal as well as large and small companies or those with previous experience working at either the IRS or the New Jersey of Taxation. The successful applicant will be a detail-oriented "people person" who values interpersonal relationships as well as providing a high caliber of legal services.
Your Responsibilities in This Role

• Interact with clients on a daily basis via email, telephone and in-person.
• Resolve disputes on both a state and federal level, including representing individual and business clients in audits, OIC's, Levies, federal and state investigations, when necessary, litigating against the IRS or NJ Division of Taxation in U.S. & NJ Tax Court, U.S. District Court & NJ Tax Court, respectively, and other judicial and quasi-judicial tribunals.
• Pursue networking and marketing opportunities on behalf of the Firm.
• Assist and guide other team members as needed in a collaborative atmosphere.

Your qualifications:

• ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP IN THE NEW JERSEY STATE BAR (required)
• Juris Doctorate (preference given to candidates from top-tier institutions)
• Prior Government, IRS, Big Law or Big 4 experience (preferred, not required)
• Extensive experience with direct client interactions
• Excellent research capabilities as well as written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with a keen ability to interface with clients from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to work matters from inception to resolution with minimal supervision
• A positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset
• A strong desire to be a direct contributor in a dynamic and collaborative work environment
