YOUR LIFE AS A TAX ASSOCIATE - QUALITY REVIEWER

This full-time financial services position at our nonprofit company works during the day.

As a Tax Associate - Quality Reviewer, you work with the site manager to establish a quality review process and ensure accuracy for our clients. Using your keen eye for detail, you review tax returns to verify that the client's personal information, banking information, and dependents are reported accurately. You support your team by making sure all returns are prepared within the scope of the preparer's certification.

During your day, you get to work with our clients, interviewing them to determine their income, qualified deductions, and credits as well as having them sign applicable documents and ensuring they receive a copy of their return. Conscientiously, you maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times and never accept payment from the client. To provide excellent service, you refer clients to other services offered through the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) site when needed. You love that you get to use your knowledge to help people get their tax returns quickly!

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Advanced level certification on IRS Link
• Willingness to learn and attend in-person TaxSlayer tax preparation software training provided by Single Stop
• 2+ years of experience in VITA or tax preparation
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to effectively research tax issues
• Knowledge about personal income taxes as well as tax law knowledge
