Tax and Compliance Analyst
What we are looking for:
We are currently looking for an energetic individual to enhance and optimize tax strategy and execution.
What you'll do:
Duties including:
Tax reporting including sales and use tax, personal property tax, and income tax.
Own, develop, and improve tax processes currently in place to ensure corporate compliance.
Implement and / or administer tax policies and procedures that use accounting methods appropriate for construction contractors.
Assist in enhancing the company's tax strategy and engage field operations leaders to optimize income tax, sales and use tax, personal property tax, fuel tax credit, and research and development tax credit filings and reporting.
Gather data to compile reports and follow up with internal & external customers as needed, audit for content and accuracy.
Manage and upkeep of Sales Tax Certificate data, track communications, and follow up to ensure compliance.
Monitor multiple deadlines and ensure all filing or reporting deadlines are met for sales and use tax, personal property tac, income tax, and other filings as required.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
File sales and use tax returns, personal property tax returns, and other indirect tax returns timely for assigned jurisdictions.
Review and sign sales tax exemptions provided to subcontractors and suppliers for jobs determined to be tax exempt.
Research as requested sales and use tax matters that arise during the bid process.
Assist with sales and use tax/indirect tax audits as they arise, including annual fuel tax credit and research and development tax credit.
Assist with compliance matters such as state and local licensing as needed.
Who you are:
We are pursuing professionals with the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
CPA preferred.
3-7 years construction experience preferred.
