The salary range for this position is $75,0000 - $85,000 Depends on Experience
Summary
The Tax Accountant position requires a working knowledge of U.S. property tax rules; business licenses; month end close and reconciliations; strong organizational skills; effective collaboration and communication; and efficient execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare property tax workpapers, file property tax returns and make payments on property tax bills.
Manage property value notices and analyze change in property value assessment to ensure reasonability.
Prepare and file monthly and quarterly state fuel tax returns.
Renew business licenses in various locations where company operates.
Month-end financial close, including reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts.
Assist in managing property tax audits and responding to property tax notices.
Prioritize multiple tasks/projects, while also completing regular responsibilities, working effectively, independently and in a team environment.
Other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, plus a minimum of 4-7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA is preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret tax documents and communicate clearly in written and verbal communication. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to adapt to change, think strategically, deliver results, and engage and influence others.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
